The top is made of two parts of spruce, and shows regular and very thin grain lines. The back is made of two pieces of flamed maple, the curl ascending from the center joint. The ribs and head head are of the same wood, and original. The f holes are very nicely carved in the Paris fashion of the time, and shows the influence of Stainer.
The purfling ends with bee stings on the corners. The varnish is of a rich golden color. The violin is in a restored condition, with different well made repairs to the top (nothing to sound post or bass bar), and repairs at the head with cheek doublings and bushings. The neck has been beautifully grafted on a new neck some time ago, and the button has been changed.
The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including pegs, tailpiece, chinrest, endpin, sound post, bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings. On the inside back can be found the original label of the master, Benoist Fleury, rue des Boucheries Faubourg Saint-Germain à Paris 1758.
The violin is guaranteed 100% original and authentic. The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality. The violin has a very noble deep and warm sound, mature and projective, a fine concert violin suitable for all repertories. Fine french antique french 18th century master violin made by Benoît Fleury. Vieux Paris violin by Benoit Fleury, 1758.
