A fine french violin made by JTL after Guadagnini circa 1900. A fine antique french violin made in the Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy workshops circa 1900. The violin was made in copy after Lorenzo Guadagnini. The varnish has been beautifully antiqued at the time.
The top is made of a single piece of a beautiful spruce, and shows regular and narrow grain lines widening towards the left side. The back is made of two splendid pieces of highly flamed maple, the curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood, and original. The f holes are very nicely carved, the purfling, the corners and the edges work are.
The varnish, of an orange-brown color on a golden ground, is original and in a perfect condition. The violin is in an excellent condition, with just a doubling of the button, very nicely made (the button is well preserved). The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new set of heart shaped pegs, a new tailpiece, a Guarneri chinrest, a new endpin, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings. On the inside back can be found the original label, "Laurentius Guadagnini fecit Placentiae 1746", including the serial number "12". The violin is guaranteed 100% original and authentic.
The violin has a beautiful mature and warm sound, easy to play and responsive, very sensitive, that will be a concert wonder. The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality.
