Offered for Sale is this very nice, set of Architects Drawing Instruments, consisting of 21 items, including a proportional divider, plus a bearing compass. All contained in a fine quality fitted Rosewood case, these instruments in a removable tray, revealing Architects shapes in the compartment below. The instruments are a complete set, four of which have bone handles, and all seem to be original. The compass is in working order, with an on/off button The case is of a high quality, made in Rosewood, and the lid exterior inlaid with gold coloured stringers. There is a golden motif in the centre, with the initials G.
There are no cracks or chips, and only minor scratches of age and use. The lock is typical of a French design, with a double turn, activated by the period key, and is in working order. All instruments in the upper tray are close fitted in a burgundy coloured firm material, and the drop down silk lined lid within the lid interior, reveals provision for a large Protractor. There is no evidence of a maker or signature.The case measures; 10-3/4" x 7" x 2 [27.5 cms x 18 cms x 5 cms].
