A very nice antique anonymous french violin made circa 1880. Fine antique anonymous 19th century french violin made circa 1880. The top is made of two parts of spruce, and shows regular grain lines. The back is made of two parts of a fantastic flamed maple, the beautiful curl descending from the center joint.

The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The head and ribs shows a black chamfer. The original oil varnish is of an orange color.

The violin is in a good condition, with just a tiny crack at the lower part of the right f hole. The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new set of pegs, a tailpiece, a chinrest, a soundpost and Thomastik Dominant strings set. The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality. A very nice french violin made circa 1880.
