1894 Made in Mirecourt, France. This beautiful instrument has the deep rich red patina of the French makers. The Maple back has fine inlaid purfling and the spruce front has lovely clear fine purfling (see pic) It has a few knocks and scuffs but no splits or loose seams.
The varnish on the back is quite aged. The sound post is in place and it has a brand new set of quality strings. The label reads: L E J T L'Incomparable Mirecourt 1894 V E Also if you look through the end peg hole there is: J T L stamped on the neck block. I tried in vain to get a picture of this!!When played it has a rich sonorous tone with fantastic resonance.
