The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood, and original to the instrument. The varnish is of a superb orange-brown color on a golden ground. The work is excellent, with nice f holes in the Didier Nicolas Ainé style, master work on the edges and corners, and purfling beautifully ending with bee stings.
