Fine antique French violin made by Laberte circa 1930, Paul Mangenot model. Fine antique violin made in the workshops of Laberte in Mirecourt circa 1930.
The violin is a Paul Mangenot, which was one of the good ones at the time. This is also a superb example, with astonishing choice of woods of the nicest quality. The top is made of two parts of spruce, and shows very regular and thin grain lines. The back is made of two pieces of highly flamed maple, the curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood.
The varnish is of an orange-brown color. The violin is in a mint condition and kept its original pegs with silver olive ends (one missing).
The violin has been revised in our workshop, including a new chinrest, a new tailpiece, a new Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings. On the inside back can be found the original label of the Laberte workshops, with the Paul Mangenot signature and the mention "Mirecourt, France". The violin is guaranteed authentic. An illustrated certificate can be added on demand. The instrument comes with a new case.
