Emile Pouzol owned the brand "Pierre Richemont", and this violin was probably made by Laberte for him under this label. The top is made of two parts of spruce, and shows fine and regular grain lines. The back is made of two parts of flamed maple, the curl descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The instrument has been masterly made : the f holes, the purfling, the head are exquisite. The violin is covered with a very pleasing golden oil varnish.
The violin is in a mint condition, without any crack (the picture of the entire back shows a light reflection that is not a crack). The varnish itself is also in a superb state of preservation. The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new set of pegs, a new tailpiece, a new chinrest and a set of Thomastik Dominant strings. The violin is of course ready to play. On the inside back can be found the original Emile Pouzol label, "Lutherie d'Art Pierre Richemont, Année 1921". The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality. The violin has a very rich warm, powerful and projective sound.
