A fine french violin made by JTL after Ruggieri circa 1900, Virtuose model. A fine antique french violin made in the Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy workshops circa 1900. The violin was belonging to the "Virtuose" series, which was amongst the best instruments ever produced by JTL. It was made in copy of Francesco Ruggeri, and the varnish antiqued at the time. The top is made of two parts of a beautiful spruce, and shows regular and narrow grain lines.The back is made of two splendid pieces of highly flamed maple, the curl very slightly descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood, and original. The f holes are very nicely carved, the purfling, the corners and the edges work are. The varnish, of a golden-brown color, is entirely original and in a perfect condition. The violin is in an excellent condition, with just some wear on some edges.
The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a tailpiece with ebony fret, the matching chinrest, a new sound post, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings. The pegs are original and they still fit perfectly.
On the inside back can be found the original label, Francesco Ruggieri detto il per Cremona 1671. " including the serial number "13 and the Virtuose stamp. On the neck block inside can also be found the "JTL" fire brand. The violin is guaranteed 100% original and authentic. The instrument comes with a new rectangular case of quality.The violin has a beautiful mature and warm sound, deep, with a lot of projection, very sensitive, that will be a concert wonder.
