Fine antique french master violin made by Charles Bailly, 1917. Fine antique early 20th century french violin made by Charles Bailly in Mirecourt during World War I (1917). The top is made of a single piece of spruce, and shows regular and thin grain lines widening towards the edges. The back is made of two parts of highly flamed maple, the handsome curl descending from the center joint. The varnish, of a rich orange-brown color, is entirely original and in a perfect condition. The violin is in an excellent condition, with just a tiny repair at d peg artistically made. The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new tailpiece, a new chinrest, a new sound post, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set.
On the inside back can be found the original label of Charles Bailly, "Instruments d'Artistes, Charles Bailly, Année 1917, n°741", covered by the Bailly's signature. The violin is guaranteed 100% authentic. A certificate of valuation describing the instrument can be issued on simple demand.
