Fine antique french violin made by JTL circa 1925, Jacques Leclerc model. Fine antique french violin made in the Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (JTL) workshops circa 1925. The violin belongs to the Jacques Leclerc model, which was one of their top ones. The top is made of two parts of spruce, and shows very regular and thin grain lines.
The back is made of two pieces of highly flamed maple, the beautiful curl descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The varnish, entirely original, is of an orange-brown color on a golden ground. The violin is in a mint condition.The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new set of Thomastik Dominant strings, new chinrest, new tailpiece. The instrument kept its original pegs with gold olive ends.
The violin is ready to play. The instrument comes with a new rectangular case. The violin has a very noble, deep and warm concert sound, with a good power and projection, that will allow you the most complete repertory. A fine french violin for a very affordable price!
