Fine antique french violin made by Laberte after Nicolas Lupot circa 1930. Fine antique french violin from the workshops of Laberte in Mirecourt, very nicely made after a Nicolas Lupot model circa 1930. The top is made of two pieces of spruce, and shows thin and very regular grain lines.
The back is made of two pieces of highly flamed maple, the curl descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood.
The fine varnish is of an orange-brown color on a golden ground. The violin is in an excellent condition, with just a few scratches and dents on varnish, and has been entirely revised and set-up in our workshop, including a Despiau bridge, a set of Thomastik Dominant strings, a new set of pegs and new tailpiece and chinrest. On the inside back can be found the original label of the Laberte workshops, "Modèle d'après Nicolas Lupot luthier rue de Grammont à Paris 1798". The violin is guaranteed 100% authentic. An illustrated certificate can be propose for a little supplement after the sale if you are interested.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case. The violin has a superb warm and brilliant sound, which projects well, and is responsive and easy to play. A fine concert violin that will allow you the most complete repertory.
