Fine antique french master violin made by Xavier Jacquet in Mirecourt circa 1850. The top is made of a single piece of spruce, and shows irregular grain lines. The back is made of a single piece of a spectacular maple, the strong curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood.
The varnish is of a beautiful orange-brown color, and is entirely original and perfectly preserved.
