Fine Old Antique French Violin Of The Collin-mezin School Made Circa 1910
Good antique french violin, school of Charles Jean-Baptiste Collin-Mezin made circa 1910. Good antique french violin made by a maker in the circle of Collin-Mezin in Mirecourt at the beginning of 20th century. The work remembers also the violins by Charles Bailly. The top is made of two pieces of spruce, and shows regular grain lines. The back is made of two parts of highly flamed maple, the curl descending from the center joint. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The varnish is of a chestnut brown color, and entirely original.

The violin is in a good condition for its age, we just found a repair under the chinrest. The violin has been revised in our workshop, including a new chinrest, and a new tailpiece. The bridge is stamped "Jeandel Aubert".

On the inside back can be found a Stradivarius label. The instrument comes with a new case. The violin has a mature brilliant sound, with an awesome power and projection, and is responsive and easy to play.
